Joe Rogan was utterly ‘disgusted’ by Justin Trudeau’s position on Canadian gun rights

Podcast host Joe Rogan said he was “disgusted” by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s recent comments on gun rights on last week’s episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” with guest Colion Noir.

“Did you see what Trudeau said today?” Rogan asked Noir, a guns rights activist, during a discussion on the push for gun control after the mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

Rogan read comments the left-wing Canadian prime minister made on a podcast on June 14, when Trudeau said that Canadians do “not have a right” to use guns for “self-protection.”

“We have a culture where the difference is guns can be used for hunting or for sport shooting in Canada, and there are lots of gun owners and they’re mostly law respecting and law abiding, but you can’t use a gun for self-protection in Canada,” Trudeau said.

“That’s not a right that you have, either in the Constitution or anywhere else,” he continued. “If you try and buy a gun and say it’s for self-protection, no, you don’t get that, you can get it for hunting, you can get it for sport shooting, you can take it to the range, no problem, as long as you go through our rigorous background checks.”

Rogan called Trudeau’s comments “f****** wild.”

“He said you don’t have the right in Canada to own a gun to protect your life. It is one of the most wild things I’ve ever seen anybody say, because first of all, I don’t believe it’s true,” Rogan said.

He added he was “so disgusted” by Trudeau’s remarks that he threw his hands up in the air after he heard them.

“He’s the son of a guy who was a politician and a leader and completely removed person in terms of regular society,” Rogan said of Trudeau, referring to his father Pierre Trudeau.

“Oh, you mean like Joe Biden?” Noir quipped.

“Yeah! Same thing,” Rogan agreed. “Both corrupt, both full of s***.”

“People were freaking out reading reading it, or watching it, because it was just like — it’s such a crazy thing to say that you can’t have a gun to protect yourself,” Rogan said. “That you do not have the right to own a gun to preserve your life.”

As prime minister, Trudeau has supported several gun control measures in Canada, where citizens do not have a constitutionally protected right to bear arms. He introduced legislation in May that would implement a “national freeze” on buying, importing, transferring, and selling handguns in a bid to cap the number of such firearms in the country.

Trudeau’s bill would also crack down on gun smuggling and trafficking, as well as implement so-called “red-flag” laws that would permit judges to take away firearms from people believed to be a danger to themselves or others.
