Whoopi Goldberg rails against possible Roe v. Wade overturn, targets religious opponents of abortion who’d say she’s ‘gonna burn in hell’

Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of “The View,” on Tuesday blasted the possible overturn of Roe v. Wade and took aim at religious opponents of abortion who’d say she’s “gonna burn in hell.”

What are the details?

By far the biggest story of Monday night and all day Tuesday has been a leaked draft decision from the U.S. Supreme Court that would overturn its 1973 ruling that made abortion legal across America. Should the high court strike down Roe v. Wade, abortion law would be left to individual states to determine.

Leftists have been going nuts about the turn of events — and Goldberg joined them Tuesday, saying that “women, when they decide something is not right for them, they’re gonna take it into their own hands.”

She added, “We got tired of tripping over women in bathrooms — public bathrooms — who were giving themselves abortions because there was nowhere safe, nowhere clean, nowhere to go. This law came about because people wanted people to have somewhere safe and somewhere clean. It has nothing to do with your religion; this is not a religious issue — this is a human issue.”

Goldberg also said “if you care about me as a human being, you should know three things: Getting an abortion is not easy. Making that decision is not easy. It’s not something people do lightly. It’s not something that you can ‘just do’ … It is a hard, awful decision that people make.”

In the interest of balance, the woman in the video below doesn’t seem too broken up about her abortion as she propagandizes children about the virtues of the procedure:

And while the individual highlighted in the tweet below admitted her “healthcare” decision was “traumatic,” she seemed to get over her abortion pretty quickly. Party on!

Goldberg added hypothetically that if individuals can’t speak to her and say, “I know how hard this must be for you” and instead are “telling me I’m gonna burn in hell, then you’re not looking out for me as a human being, whether I subscribe to your religion or not, and that is not okay.”

Anything else?

Fox News reported that co-host Joy Behar said she woke up during the night and couldn’t get back to sleep after seeing the “devastating” Roe v. Wade news and claimed that a number of Supreme Court justices “lied” about overturning it during their Senate confirmation hearings.

“My worry is that this is just the beginning,” she added, according to the cable network. “Next they’ll go after gay marriage and maybe … Brown v. Board of Education. They already eroded our voting rights a little bit. So I see fascism down the line here.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin said that as a Catholic she believes abortion is “wrong” but doesn’t want to impose her beliefs on others, Fox News noted, adding that co-host Sara Haines said overturning
Roe v. Wade would “not in any way stop abortions or reduce abortions.”
